Well friends, here it is, the last day of 2010.
I know a lot of us will be reflecting back on the year past and trying to analyze trends, sales figures, profit margins, etc. Others will be reflecting on more personal events. Did we learn anything significant? Was there an event that changed us forever? Did we “ho-hum” through the year or did we make a difference in someone’s life?
There are certain things that I know for sure as I have reached that “mature” stage of life.
- No matter what, tomorrow is another day. The sun will come up regardless.
- Enjoy today as a gift from God. Plan for tomorrow, but learn from the past and don’t dwell there.
- Hugs and Kisses from your loved ones are worth more than gold.
- Hard work won’t kill you. It will make you tired, but it won’t kill you.
- Schedule time off to spend with your family, and enjoy your off time.
- You can’t baptize a cat.
- Enjoy the ‘freebies’ that life gives you. The smell of cookies baking, a spring rain, the last snow, time with a child, a good night’s sleep, old friends, new friends, etc.
- Give away smiles, to everyone (even if you think they don’t deserve one).
- Take charge of your life.
- Be more organized, but, be flexible.
- The old saying of “When life gives you lemons, make lemon aid” is true. Adapt, adjust, and overcome.
- Be charitable because there are lots of people that are not as fortunate as you are.
